Blyth Homestead, Litchfield NP

There is a bit of a story behind this little shack and it was a real reminder of just how tough it was in this area not so many years ago. Had to drive through a creek about one metre deep and fifty metres long to get to it, so the drive back out in near darkness made for a bit of adrenalin pumping stuff. Worth it though, quite a pretty spot in a harsh and unforgiving landscape.

    Beautiful shot Peter.

    I really like the soft golden light coming through the trees without being blown out.

    Try darkening the foreground just a tad, I reckon it would work a treat…love the shack as well!

    Great image Pete, I so want to photograph some of these Shacks’ in Alpine NSW & VIC, these old huts offer so much! Agree with Mark on processing, golden light draws the eye into the shack, same way a darker 4ground will work from below.
